Tulane partners with Tuition Management Systems (TMS) to help you and your family more easily afford an education. Use this page to learn more about this alternative payment option.

Optional Monthly Payment Plan

 

Tuition Management Systems’ Monthly Payment Plan allows you to spread your education expenses over smaller monthly installments that are paid over the course of the payment period. Your cost is a $70 enrollment fee for the 2016 - 2017 year or a $52 enrollment fee for one semester. The Monthly Payment Plan begins on May 15, 2016.

To take advantage of the Monthly Payment Plan, simply enroll on their website by visiting tulane.afford.com, or you may call them toll-free at 800-722-4867. Once enrolled, you will be billed monthly in accordance with the Monthly Payment Schedule printed on your planner. Automatic monthly deductions from checking or savings are available at no additional cost.

Important


Though many Tulane families take advantage of this optional payment plan, it is not required. All students, even those who opt for this payment plan, receive monthly e-bills directly from Tulane Accounts Receivable. The Accounts Receivable e-bills are the official account records, not the Tuition Management System statements. They will reflect on time payments made to Tuition Management Systems. However, the amount you pay is based on the amount you choose to budget into your payment plan. Your TMS budget does not automatically adjust as additional charges are added to your account. Failure to pay balances due on the Accounts Receivable statements by the due date will result in finance charges.

It is the student's responsibility to ensure the budgeted amount to TMS will pay their student account in full.

1. When will my TMS payment post to my account?

Fall Term:  April, May, June and July TMS payments will credit student accounts on July 20th. August and September payments will be recorded as received from TMS.

Spring Term: September, October, November, December TMS payments will credit students accounts on December 20th.  January & February payments will be recorded as received from TMS.

2. I sent my payment to TMS late. When will Tulane receive credit?

Tuition Management Systems sends one file to Tulane per month based on their 15th due date.  If this date is missed, Tulane University will receive your TMS payment in their next month's file.  This may result in a finance charge if it is the last payment in the payment period and a balance is due on the account.

3. How do I determine my Budget?

Tuition Management Systems provides a Payment Planner form online to assist you in determining your semester or yearly budget.  On this form, you will select which billing items you wish to include in your TMS budget.  You will also enter any expected financial aid credits and payments from other sources if any (such as grandparent, employer, etc). TMS will use your input to determine the monthly payment plan amount.

The amount you pay is based on the amount you choose to budget into your payment plan. Your payment plan budget does not automatically adjust as additional charges are added to your account. Failure to pay balances due on the Accounts Receivable statements by the due date will result in finance charges.

To avoid finance charges in Fall 2016 semester, your University account balance should be 0.00 by September 30, 2016.

To avoid finance charges in Spring 2017 semester, your University account balance should be 0.00 by February 28, 2017.
