NEWCOMB ART: Remembering 1917

A glimpse into the past of Newcomb Art Department through the works of Magdalena Verburg (1895-1998).

Magdalena Verburg was born in New Orleans on June 23rd, 1895. Magdalena attended Newcomb College, where she majored in art. To the right are samples of her drawings and paintings from the year 1917. A selection of Madge's work will be added to the Newcomb Art Department's Digital Image Collection.
