Group Blogging
Michele White of the aptly named Michele White's Blog asks about group blogging within CF Blog...
"On another and probably more important issue in terms of our "experiment" or beta-testing. I do wonder about the functionality of this blog software for a classroom. Any thoughts on whether we can facilitate a group blog so students can more easily read the comments of other students? Are there other options for making our blogs more interconnected?"
I'm going to ask Clay to weigh in on this question, but off-hand several things come to mind. First, blog users can populate the "Links" section on the right side of the Blog page with links to other blogs. This makes access a little easier. Clay can probably pre-populate the text block with links to all of the student blogs, so long as it is done durng the initial setup.
Secondly, cuting and pasting one blog entry link into another is another way to interconnect. Like so: http://pandora.tcs.tulane.edu/blogs/dtoten/index.cfm/2007/1/3/Technology-and-Pedagogy-Primers
Or, somone with minimal html skills could even clean it up a bit: Derek's Technology and Pedogogy link
Clicking on a commenter's name will open up their blog, assuming the commenter provided that information. There is also e-mail notification when blog comments are added and commented upon.
What other features are associated with a group blog?
