The Goldring Performing Arts Center

The Goldring Performing Arts Center celebrated its long-awaited Grand Opening to much fanfare on Tuesday January 29, 2008. The ribbon cutting took place in the morning, attended by dignitaries, Lusher Charter School administrators and students & faculty, followed by a number of performances by Dance and Music students.

The Greater Federation of Women's Clubs Makes Donation
Contributes to Physics Lab Renovation at Lusher

The Greater Federation of Women's Clubs has made a significant donation toward the renovation of the Physics Lab at Lusher Charter School. Women's Clubs from across the country sent money for this cause to contribute to the rebuilding of New Orleans following hurricane Katrina. Lusher Charter School wishes to express its deepest gratitude for this wonderful gift!

Lusher Receives Generous Gift for Chemistry Lab
The Mark A. Ratner Chemistry Lab

Lusher Charter School is honored to announce a gift by the Ratner family for the renovation and refurbishment of the Mark A. Ratner Chemistry Laboratory at the school’s Fortier Campus. The gift is being made by the Ratner family in honor of their uncle, Dr. Mark A. Ratner, the Charles E. and Emma H. Morrison Professor in Chemistry at Northwestern University. Dr. Ratner is widely considered the father of the field of nanotechnology and molecular electronics. Dr. Ratner’s spirit of innovation and scholarship will be an inspiration to young scientists at Lusher as they begin to explore the field to which he has dedicated his illustrious career.

The Lusher Podcast Project
Student-Run Project is First of its Kind in Louisiana


The Lusher Podcast Project is an online radio station that everyone can tune into whenever they want. Podcast episodes are placed on its web site where people can subscribe to them. Subscribers are automatically notified when a new episode is available by podcast player software on iTunes. But listeners don’t have to wait to subscribe to a podcast to listen to it; anyone with access to the internet can listen to our podcasts.

The Lusher Podcast Project is the first consistent high school podcast in Louisiana. The project consists of four different types of podcasts: music, sports, news, and specials.
